You just gotta love Gambel's quail--
(and their scientific name: callipepla gambelii)
attacking their reflection, this male-and-female pair...
They mate for life, and in the spring,
become very aggressive toward other pairs...
I wonder if they're planing to nest nearby?
We've already had white-winged dove babies in our backyard this spring;
a covey of quail would be a fun addition.
Their 'headdresses' add to their precious goofiness.
You can't not smile when you see them...
